wiffleball
description
The Junior Wiffleball unit will act as the next level of development of some of the striking skills the K-2 classes focused on last year. Students will also refine their fielding skills. Students will work in small groups to practice throwing and catching the balls. However, they will quickly advance to more complex actions. Students will learn how to field a fly ball and ground ball while making an immediate throw to a teammate. They will also have a chance to practice hitting the ball using a wiffleball bat.
Each lesson will consist of small practice tasks as well as a modified game. The modified games will allow the students to practice their skills while still feeling as if they are participating in a game-like situation. The last couple days of the unit will be solely dedicated to playing in larger games.
