THE HEALTH PROGRAM
The philosophy of the health and wellness program is to teach to students how to make healthy decisions related to their physical and social well-being. The program is focused on teaching and monitoring our students holistically - reaching the social/emotional, physical, medical and nutritional health of each student. Classes are discussion-based and include activities and age-appropriate materials to reinforce the subjects covered. The program is designed to encourage discussion between students and parents related to the often difficult topics that are addressed in class.
The health curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health Curriculum Framework based on each grade level. Junior and Middle School health classes meet for 44 minutes per week for a total of about 10 classes.
