circuit Training
description
The Circuit Training unit teaches the students about how to properly exercise. Each class consisted of a demonstration of various exercises, mostly body weight exercises, that would strength multiple parts of the body. Although many of these students do not participate in this type of activity at their current age, it is important that they understand the strengthening principles for when they get older. Exercising with weights, or "working out", is more popular among high school and college students.
The concept behind Circuit Training is that there are a variety of exercises completed within a certain amount of time. The body stays active for a longer period of time, which forces it to work harder, increasing heart rate, and burning Calories. It is one of the most effective ways to improve strength, endurance, coordination, and body weight. Some of the exercises the students learned about were wall squats, torso twist lunges, biceps curls, and spiderman pushups. The lessons also reviewed target, maximum, resting, and instantaneous heart rate. Each of these plays in integral part in the exercising process. They practiced finding their heart rate and calculating their target heart rate. The Circuit Training unit is probably one of the most physically demanding units in the 7th grade.
