game skills
description
The Game Skills unit is a culmination of all of the topics the students learned about throughout the year. This is the time of the year when the students play in more traditional games such as baseball, soccer, and pillow polo. The students are informed of the basic rules required to play the game and are expected to follow these rules. Using the skills they have acquired throughout the year, students are able to play much more effectively with their peers.
This unit is also meant as a very brief introduction to various game strategies such as defending space, creating space, and maintaining possession of the ball. All of these things requires movement, participation, and teamwork, which further enhances the students' ability to learn and develop. As the students enter the Junior Division, they will use most of these same skills in more complex situations, allowing them to strive for skill mastery.
